Lotus obviously wants to keep Raikkonen - Eric Boullier


Lotus F1 team boss Eric Boullier says that they obviously want to keep Kimi Raikkonen and still believes Red Bull will track him for next season.

Following Mark Webber’s retirement declaration F1 paddocks highly talks about next year Sebastian Vettel’s team-mate, and defending world champions has put Raikkonen on their short list.

"He is out of contract, Red Bull is chasing Kimi and we obviously want to keep Kimi. Team boss Eric Boullier said on Friday.

"Kimi will decide what he wants to do, and he will decide what is best for him.He knows what he has with us; he can guess what he has with Red Bull. Now we are talking with him and he is seeking some understanding of where we are going, in terms of building with the new ownership.

"He is happy with what he has, so we will see."

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner believes that next year Kimi will drive beside with Vettel.

"Of course Kimi Raikkonen is a driver you'd be foolish to ignore, But we are not just looking at Kimi, we also have Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne who are two candidates." said team boss Christian Horner.
