The Brit hero today made a thrilling Q3 performance in front of his home spectators and edged out his team-mate Nico Rosberg by four tenths of the seconds.
"It’s incredible; it feels just like it did in 2007, the team has done a phenomenal job by improving the car constantly. I haven’t been fully comfortable in the car all weekend, so I’m very happy to get that lap in." Hamilton said following the qualifying.
"I think it’s going to be tough for us to keep Sebastian behind," said Hamilton. "But our long run pace in practice wasn’t as bad as we’ve seen in past. I’m hoping with the temperatures and some care we can nurse tyres. I will be giving it my all tomorrow."
