Mark Webber expect tyre strategy works in Sunday's race

Championship leader Mark Webber out-qualified Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel for the fourth successive time in Montreal on Saturday even though Webber is now hoping that a wildcard tyre strategy works in Canadian race.

Red Bull were exclusive on Saturday in that they were the only front runners to finish qualifying on the harder (Medium) compound Bridgestone tyres, with those around them using the Super Soft type which has already suffered from fast graining this weekend, in spite of being faster over short stints.

"Well we could still do a pretty good job in qualifying today on the harder tyre," Australian Webber explained.

"Obviously it's a long race tomorrow and we're planning to do the best job we can and hopefully this is something which can be beneficial to us."
