Hamilton grabs Spanish Grand Prix pole position


Lewis Hamilton takes Spanish Grand Prix pole position; this is his first pole in the circuit de catalunya. Williams F1’s Pastor Maldonado just beginning in the front row.

The local boy Fernando Alonso starts from third on the grid. And the Lotus duo Romain Grosjean and Kimi Räikkönen will start from fourth and fifth on the grid respectively.

Lewis Hamilton dominates whole session of the Qualifying and he post best time half a second faster than Williams F1’s Pastor Maldonado. Hamilton done 1:21.707s best time and it’s recorded for McLaren 150th Formula 1 pole.

Both Sauber guys entered into Q3, Sergio Perez done sixth fastest and his team-mate Kamui Kobayashi post 10th place on the grid. But his Sauber machine runs out on the way back to the pits at the end of Q2.

Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg will start from seventh on the grid he was early set his best time. Final practice top Sebastian Vettel just done eighth quickest lap-time, but his team-mate Mark Webber not enter into Q3 he was only finish 12th fastest behind the Jenson Button. Last two seasons (2010 and 2011) Webber was took Catalunya pole position.

The pole-sitter Lewis Hamilton’s team-mate Jenson Button just made 11th on the grid, he was lots of time under steer with his new upgraded McLaren machine.

Force India duo Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg made 13th and 14th position respectively. Toro Ross guys Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo share the eighth the row on the race grid. Once again Felipe Massa posts a bad pole position today he was just made 17th on the grid.

Bruno Senna pressed out solid in his efforts to keep up - spinning into the gravel at the end of Q1 and ensuring an instant exit.

Caterham F1’s Vitaly Petrov out qualified and his team-mate Heikki Kovalainen for the first time as the back-of-the-grid teams lined up in the usual order.

Marissa’s Charles Pic and his team-mate Timo Glock and HRT's Narain Karthikeyan out qualified from the 107 per cent margin.
