Loose manhole cover reason Barrichello's crash in Monaco GP

Williams F1 team set that following the team's analysis, the cause of Rubens Barrichello's crash at the Monaco GP on last Sunday was a loose-fitting manhole cover at Turn 2.


As Rubens car drove over the manhole envelop, the cover was spun up and hit the rear left wheel, causing failure. The car was badly brokened in the consequent crash which ended his race. This incident has been reported to the FIA.
