Rosberg: It’s a very, very special victory at Silverstone
Nico Rosberg says that British Grand Prix victory was a very, very special day, the German took his second victory in this season with a dramatic race at Silverstone.
Rosberg made a disappointed start and fall-back into third position from second and he spent most laps in the race, following the race leader Sebastian Vettel’s retirement advantaged him and he took top podium after the tight fight with Sebastian Vettel.
Following his victory Mercedes lifted into the second position, 48 points adrift of behind Red Bull. And the German now hanging sixth on the drivers’ standings.
"It’s fantastic; it's a very, very special day. The team has done such a fantastic job. We’ve been gaining such momentum, progressing all the time. Rosberg said after the British GP winner.
"We have a really fast car in qualifying and we’re also making progress in the race. We had equally the fastest race car today. When Sebastian stopped, I wasn’t disappointed! From then it was just a great race."
