Maldonado receive five places grid penalty

(Formula1) Williams' Pastor Maldonado will drop five places on the grid for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix after the team opted to change his gearbox ahead of the race.

Maldonado had qualified 17th after crashing into the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve's infamous 'Wall of Champions' at the very end of Q2, damaging the rear of his FW34.

The penalty means the Venezuelan will now start 22nd, with Caterham's Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov, Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne, HRT's Pedro de la Rosa and Marussia's Timo Glock all promoted one grid place.

Maldonado's Williams team mate, Bruno Senna, will start from 16th position.
