GPupdate reports that - The team member in question, whose first name has been identified as Chess, is the first mechanic for Pedro de la Rosa. During the session, he was struck by the Spaniard’s car which was pulling back into its pit box following a stint on the track.
As confirmed by HRT on Twitter, the mechanic is receiving check-ups in hospital but is not believed to have suffered any fractured. HRT last suffered a pit lane accident during the 2010 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
