Ferrari admired the Sergio Perez’s consistent performance, one more time the Sauber guy get the podium finish in Canadian Grand Prix for 2012 season.
This season he was finished the first podium in Malaysian Grand Prix and in last race weekend he posted another third place in Montreal and especially crossed the chequered flag following close to beat with Fernando Alonso finally he overtook the Ferrari man.
Talks with Ferrari Driver Academy head Luca Baldisseri led to Perez take on a less aggressive approach at the back the wheel in Montreal and it paid bonus as he made his tyres last to join first two podium holders Lewis Hamilton and Romain Grosjean.
“After Monaco, we had a discussion with Sergio,” Baldisserri said. “We wanted to find out why recent results had not lived up to expectations after the Malaysian Grand Prix. Perez is undoubtedly talented, but he often lets himself down by being too aggressive which, especially in Formula 1, does not deliver results.
“The Montreal race was a great response, a race in which Sergio not only ran at a great pace, but also managed his race very well, managing to stay on track for fifty laps on the same set of tyres.”
After the race the Mexican says – He pleased with unexpected podium.
