McLaren will not change their initial Mugello test plan. McLaren announced earlier this month that test drivers Gary Paffett and Oliver Turvey will drive MP4-27 from May 1-3 in Italy with race duo Hamilton and Jenson Button sitting out.
Recently Lewis Hamilton suggests he want get back in the car following McLaren’s nightmare performance at Bahrain GP.
"I need to get back in the car. We need to figure out why the tyres are going off, If there are other things to test or ways to figure out I will be the one to do it, not let someone else do it.” he said.
"We have a lot of work to do. There is no quick fix. We really have to make some big improvements to the car because the qualifying pace is there but the race pace was miles off."
However, according to GPUpdate.net, McLaren won't alter their plans with the driving duties split equally between Paffett and Turvey.
McLaren’s Mugello line-up is as follows
Tuesday morning: Oliver Turvey
Tuesday afternoon: Gary Paffett
Wednesday: Gary Paffett
Thursday: Oliver Turvey
The session will run between Tuesday and Thursday of next week, with the cars on-track from 9am and 1pm local time (BST +2) and also between 2pm and 6pm.
