Oct.09 - Jenson Button won thrilling Japanese GP in front of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel. And Vettel settled his second successive world championship with third on the podium.
There was a hard race as tyre degradation has played in Suzuka, Alonso and Button finished in closely. Last two lap Button reacted Alonso’s pace and the Brit was settled fastest lap in the race.
Vettel’s team-mate Mark Webber was done in fourth place. Lewis Hamilton had another complex race and finished fifth following a puncture and another cat-and-mouse fight with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. Finally the Brazilian made seventh place.
Seven times world champion Michael Schumacher finished in sixth. Serio Perez, Vitaly Petrov and Nico Rosberg finished 8th, 9th and 10th respectively.
Button celebrated in the pit lane, Vettel get the congratulations over the team radio and replied to his Red Bull team "Thank you so much every single one. Every single one. We took nothing for granted, and we did it."
