Vodafone McLaren Mercedes expanding alliance with Hugo Boss

The UK based F1 team Vodafone McLaren team has declare that it is expanding its partnership with German fashion house Hugo Boss into a record-breaking 30th year. The agreement has been labelled by the Woking group as 'the longest sporting alliance of its kind on record'.

Since 1980, the German fashion house Hugo Boss' name has showed on a selection of McLaren racing cars as both workers and drivers presented the brand name on overalls and team wear. During that time, a selection of drivers have also modelled clothing items of the company which is based in Metzingen, just under 20 miles south of Stuttgart.

"We're proud and delighted to be able to announce this extension today, not least because it takes our partnership with Hugo Boss into record-breaking territory," McLaren Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh commented.

"Hugo Boss is a fantastic partner and has been with McLaren throughout our most successful years - sharing in and contributing to the many World Championship triumphs we've achieved with legendary drivers such as Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Mika Häkkinen and Lewis Hamilton."
