McLaren signs contract for measuring systems

The F1 McLaren team has declared a fresh join bussiness with FARO, which becomes the Woking squad's official dealer of measuring systems in order to work with the championship-leading group on a number of tasks. The technology supply by FARO will allow miniscule measurements and comparisons to be recorded on a range of car parts, which McLaren believe can make all the variation when fighting for both titles.

"In a high-precision, time-critical environment such as ours, it's vital that we can rely on highly accurate measuring and inspection systems in order to guarantee 100 percent precision within very rapid production and assembly processes," McLaren Racing MDr Jonathan Neale said.

"Here at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, we're justifiably proud of the speed and efficiency of our existing manufacturing and assembly procedures, but FARO's contribution will not only allow us to increase the speed of those processes but also improve fidelity and accuracy."
