Formula 1 team’s could be set to lose control of
their advertising signage rights inside the pit garages. Team sponsor signage is general place within the limitations of the garages, but bosses last week received a letter from Allsport Management.
Allsport is a company contracted by F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone to look after certain business aspects of the sport -- including trackside advertising. According to Grand Prix Week, the letter reminds teams that Allsport is really in control of the advertising that can be displayed within the garages.
The report said the letter might be a discuss ploy by Ecclestone in response to those teams pushing for a better tyre deal for 2011.
