The Force India F1 team is reportedly suing Lotus, whose car design is claimed to be founded on a wind tunnel model of the former's. The legal process has already begun in the United Kingdom's Supreme Court, with the important matter being that the Lotus T127 is a copy of the Force India VJM03 Car. With Silverstone's Force India currently in its third season since taking over Spyker, Norfolk-based Lotus joined the fray this year although it is now being blamed of copying wind tunnel designs, according to Germany's Motor-sport Total.
The precise case is believed to involve Aerolab, which gives wind tunnel usage for Lotus; the Italian company has been associated with Force India formerly, having been in a technical partnership with the Vijay Mallya-owned group in September last year and Nov 2008.
Force India is suspected to have inquiry the matter when pre-season photos of a Lotus wind tunnel model greatly be similar to a design of their own. The reports also follow those from last November, when Aerolab sued Force India for what were described as 'serious and persistent' break of agreements.
