Mercedes GP to appeal stewards' judgment

Mercedes GP has sets that it will be appealing Sunday's assessment from Monaco GP race stewards to inflict a penalty upon Schumacher, who go down from sixth to 12th place after passing Fernando Alonso under Safety Car situation. The punishment comes subsequent the Mercedes driver's last lap pass on the Ferrari which, regardless of being done after the Safety Car row, contravene article 40.13 of the sporting regulations, stating that no passing must take place when the Safety Car pulls in after running on-track for the last lap of a race.

This problems will now go to the FIA's International Court of Appeal in Paris, where Mercedes will effort to appeal the conclusion of the stewards; but, the Brackley-based team cannot appeal the punishment, which sees the Seven-time World Champion drop 20 seconds further down the order and out therefore of the points.
