Five place penalties for Vitaly Petrov

Five place penalties for Vitaly Petrov have grown to be the fourth drivers to receive a five place grid go down ahead of qualifying for the Spanish GP. So far in Spain, Chandhok's HRT has been penalized five grid spots for a gearbox modification and Virgin Racing duo Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi will also start five places further back than they qualify, due to the team not suggesting details on gear ratios to governing body the FIA within the allowed time on Friday evening.

Renault's Vitaly Petrov gearbox change comes after the Renault crashed at the Repsol hairpin, Turn 4, in last practice on Saturday morning. Gearboxes are supposed to last for four full Grand Prix weekends before being altered without a penalty apply.
