In this season refuelling has been banned, All teams will only pit for tyres. The tyre rules have not actually changed as teams will still need to use two dissimilar compounds through the race. And since they will have to start with a full fuel load, tyre managing will be very important. The important thing is to change the tyre rapidly. Normally a pit stop tyres change will be taken between 3 to 5 seconds. That’s absolutely practicable. And 3 second take would be fantastic which fairly only some teams have done in this work winter testing and at their factories. But 2 second change?
The Red Bull racing has indicated that they have done that. In fact it is rumored that they did a 1.8sec tyre change. Their guys even go training to get fit fot this idea just like drivers have to. That would be incredible. At the present even tyre changes are planned in the tenths.
