Massa disappointing for track temperature

Felipe Massa answerable his unsatisfactory pole position for the Australian GP on the wet track situation in the final session of qualifying. He finished up fifth but was a considerable seven tenths of a second off the pace of his Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso in third. Following heater conditions in practice session, he had been forecasting a better performance but said the car was harder to drive when the cloud cover brought the track temperature down to 21 degrees Centigrade.

I was not expecting the qualifying, going into this GP, Massa thought. Still since the temperature fall, I have always thrash about to find the best way of getting the tyres up to temperature, while yesterday morning for example, when it was hotter, the situation was much better. With today's temperatures, I had no grip, which is not particularly hopeful.

He thought he was hopeful for better situation tomorrow and was looking to finish as high as likely in the race.
