Force India’s Adrian Sutil is aiming to finish top six at the Melbourne GP and combine with the top four teams.
At the last race week end in Bahrain Grand Prix Sutil qualified tenth position but his race was ruined when a spin in the second corner fall him down the order. But, during his fight back through the field he set the second fastest lap time and stimulated up to 12th place. In Melbourne he is hopeful to convert that race pace into points.
We want to go even higher in Australia, he said. I think there is still possible to recover everything and get close to the top five or six places. Recent session I was ninth. If we can get that place again this year that's two points. We've got to aim for this or higher - I'm striking happy with where we were in qualifying and how we achieved in the Bahrain race so we've got a lot of reasons to look forward to Australia now.
Sutil is too sure that his driving during the field in Bahrain GP is evidence the can more improve this season without any additional rule changes.
Fine, after the start I plunged down to 21st position and I came 12th at the end of the race so it shows that you can overtake and have a good race, he said.
2009 season Bahrain GP was too not that attractive; with only refuelling and pit stops so never really overtake potential. I think every driver was a bit careful as it was the first race and we had to go a long distance on the soft tyre and not a soul really knew the best way to call it. Now we will go to Australia and tweak it a bit more to the limit and start to be a more violent. I think there will be some more overtaking.
